Basil Hayden Two By Two Rye

Our blending team took on the challenge of bringing together rye and bourbon whiskies from our aging stock to create something incredibly balanced — something that embodies the best that both types of whiskey have to offer.

Basil Hayden Rye Whiskey

We started by aging a traditional rye four years, then transferred it to newly charred quarter cask barrels to age an additional seven years. The smaller barrels created more contact with the oak and allowed more air to breathe into the cask, which resulted in an incredibly deep flavor.

BASIL HAYDEN RYE AGED 10 YEARS

This multifaceted spirit is just as unique in age as it is in taste. Bottled at 80 proof, the mashbill features a slightly spicy, yet approachable, rye resulting in an elegantly complex taste profile and a golden honey hue. Serving neat, or on the rocks, opens up all of the flavors that were developed from ten years of aging, such as spice, oak, caramel, and tobacco. This rye can be easily enjoyed without the burn associated with higher-proof whiskeys.

BASIL HAYDEN CARIBBEAN RESERVE RYE

Crafted as an approachable whiskey expression to enjoy during the warm summer months, Basil Hayden Caribbean Reserve Rye takes inspiration from the sweet and spicy contrast between rye whiskey and rum. This offering features a blend of 8-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and 4-year-old Canadian Rye Whisky, which bring to life layers of flavor, including distinct spice, toasted oak, and vanilla notes. The blend is then finished with the addition of Black Strap Rum which ties the rye whiskey pairing together with sweet notes of brown sugar and molasses. The result is a balanced whiskey that remains approachable to discover at 80 proof.
